Is iQ made of styrofoam?

No, iQ pots are made of EPP. EPP is the abbreviation of Expanded Polypropylene. This material is also known as Expanded Polypropylene. EPP has a high strength-to-weight ratio. The material is lightweight and at the same time resistant to shocks, impacts and short-term heavy loads. In addition, EPP has insulating properties. When EPP dents, the material moves back to its original shape moments later.
EPP is temperature resistant from -50°C to 50°C. In addition, water is minimally absorbed by the material. As a result, bacteria and other micro-organisms have virtually no chance to settle in the material. Moreover, as a homogeneous polypropylene plastic, EPP is easy to recycle.

What exactly is EPP and how is iQ made?

EPP is the abbreviation of Expanded Polypropylene. This material is also known as Expanded Polypropylene. EPP material consists of EPP granules that are sealed together. The production process starts with expanding the granules under the influence of heat, pressure and moisture. Then the granules are poured into a mould. The mold has the desired product shape. Again, the granules undergo the repercussions of heat, pressure and moisture. This causes the grains to melt and expand. Then they form a whole together. When the mold has cooled, the end product can be removed. The EPP product is then ready.

Are iQ pots recycled?

Yes! This way you help to our planet when you purchase an iQ pot.
By recycling and reusing EPP, we contribute directly to the circular economy. And together we make our planet responsibly greener. The recycled material is reused as a raw material for the manufacture of numerous plastic products.

How can I recycle my pot?

You can recycle your iQ pot by returning it to the store where you bought it.
They will collect the pots and return them to Tel International, after which the pots will be recycled.

What should I do if the pot has broken?

If it has happened that your iQ pot has broken within the 5 year warranty, you can return it with your purchase receipt in the store or webshop where you bought it. You will then receive a new pot.

Does the pot discolour in the sun?

No, iQ pots do not discolour in the sun and are both heat and frost resistant.
